The SSAH is now a Charity!

The SSAH has recently become a recognised Scottish Charity, no. SC 035621. This means that we are now eligible for Gift Aid from your membership subscription. When you join or renew your membership, we ask you to tick a box on the membership form to agree to Gift Aid.

Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further. This means that £100 can be turned into £128, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn’t cost you a thing. So if you want your subscription to go further, Gift Aid it. Just tick the box on the new membership form, when it becomes available. It’s that simple.

To qualify for Gift Aid, you must be a UK taxpayer and pay sufficient tax. What you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount we will claim in the tax year. For example, for the SSAH to reclaim £10 on a donation, the SSAH member must pay at least £10 income or capital gains tax during that tax year.

We can backdate Gift Aid to 6 April 2000, so we will be asking you to tick a box stating that:

The donation(s) to be covered by the declaration are all donations I’ve made to the SSAH since 6 April 2000 and all donations I make in the future until I notify you otherwise.
